Well-Woman Yoga
Well-Woman Yoga classes help women who want to improve their energy levels, release stiffness, tone the pelvic floor and improve sleep by reducing their emotional instability and releasing tension in the body and mind.
Well-Woman Yoga is designed to support women throughout all of their cycles of life. Whether it’s to help manage the fluctuation of hormones during the days of menstruation, post-natal recovery, or peri-menopause/ menopause/ post-menopause stages of life.
Whether recovering from illness or taking time for much needed self-care, the classes will reach into every part of the physical body to access a state of balance and stability, which in turn helps us to meet the mental and emotional worlds with balance. The class creates an opportunity to connect to the inner world and to be able to hear it.
Some days we need soothing practices that help us to surrender to waves of emotion and anxiety that come with changes in both our inner and outer worlds; practices to help release stiffness and day to day discomfort; and relaxation methods designed to nourish, to replenish and encourage rest.
Other days we have the fire and the energy to move with a strong and steady flow, bearing our body’s weight to strengthen our bones, increase our cardiovascular strength and tone our ever-changing body shape.
Well-Woman practices include:
Meditation
Create a space to reflect, calm the chaos of the mind, enhance a greater sense of awareness and realise intention
Pranayama
These breathing practices will release tension, anxiety, anger, emotional fluctuations and insomnia
Kriya’s
Breathing practices to cleanse and stimulate internal systems
Pawanmuktasana

Asana
Posture practices, both static and flowing, are guided to support balance, focus, inner strength and also to uplift, rejuvenate & tone. Postures are practiced with and without props
Pelvic Floor

Self-Massage

Yoga Nidra
A carefully constructed, guided meditation to take you between the space of being awake and asleep. A space where deep healing and restoration can take place.
A yoga practice can be a sanctuary for women when practicing within a community: like-minded women come together, connect over shared experiences and come to realise they are not alone.
Well-Woman Yoga goes beyond a physical workout: it’s a practice that supports healing, transformation and empowers the practitioner on every level, throughout every stage of life.
No experience is necessary for these classes.
Please complete a Well-Woman questionnaire before attending the class. This helps me best support your yoga practice and offer modifications if/ when necessary to suit your individual needs.

“I have been attending Lucy’s Well-Woman yoga practice for eighteen months and really look forward to the weekly class. Lucy is a brilliant teacher with an infectious laugh and she makes the sessions so enjoyable. You feel that you’ve had a work out but also feel chilled out at the same time. She is very approachable and always gives you the confidence to feel that you can do the exercise even if you doubt you can.”

“I have been joining Lucy via Zoom for Well-Woman Classes and Mixed Ability Classes this year. I am so delighted to be able to do this, they help so much, and I usually wouldn’t be able to attend her classes as I live an hours drive from Kenilworth.
Over the past 30 years I have done all sorts of different yoga and suddenly found when I hit my 50’s that I cannot imagine doing what I used to as my body has taken off on its own journey.
My biggest challenge seems to be arthritic pain in my hands, the hand stretches that we do in the Well Woman class really helps with this.
Last summer my son found it hilarious that I could not do more than about six jumps on the trampoline but seven months later I can run further, sneeze without fear and my husband and I both enjoy the benefits of the bandha exercises. The practice itself is gentle and works in a very subtle way that is so effective at a much deeper level. I had been told there was little that could be done about the pelvic floor but I am amazed at how quickly I am now able to connect with myself thanks to these classes.
