Well, that went quick! Did anyone see where 2022 went? I’ve been a little bit here, there and everywhere this year with yoga: from teaching to filming, studying to yoga travels and getting back outdoors and in nature whenever I can with my loved ones. It definitely feels like it’s time to wind down and ease into a restful festive season. So here’s a little bit of light reading about all things Yoga. I’d like to invite you to grab yourself a cuppa, a mince pie, put your feet up and enjoy a little read :)
First of all, I’d just like to say a big thank you to our Yoga community. Being able to offer both in-person and online classes, and for everyone to be so adaptable in attending both or either option. The beauty of having the online option is that you can still attend class when you’re on holiday or need to swap from your regular slot. I have really admired everyone’s commitment to their yoga practice - it’s really inspiring. Speaking of which, as the August Yoga Challenge took off so well, I’m going to create a January one too! I’ll update the whats app group. If you weren’t involved in this previously, but would like to join, do drop me a message and I’ll add you to the group. I will film a short practice and add it to the group. Each day you do the practice, you can sign off with a tick, a greeting, a photo, whatever works for you.
Living Your Yoga hosted two beautiful sell-out events this Autumn: Yoga Nidra in October and Well-Woman Yoga in November. Both events were catered for by the fabulous Cynthia from Desa Cafe in Leamington. We’ll be running more events in 2023, dates will be confirmed in a separate events newsletter.

Balance+ App
As many of you already know, I teach Yoga on Dr Louise Newson’s Balance+ App. I had the good fortune of presenting a daytime live stream for World Menopause Day in October. Now I’m excited to share that I’ll be co-presenting another live on Wednesday 4th January with Dr Louise Newson, in conversation with Marissa Hussain on exercise.
If you download the Balance App for free, you can have 7 days of Balance+ for free to catch up on previous live’s (including World Menopause Day) and all of the other Yoga, Pilates, Cooking Demonstrations, Discussions on Skin, Hair, Sexual Health and Weight Management to list a little of the content!
Dr Louise Newson’s Balance App was launched to better support and inform women as they move through the perimenopause, menopause and post-menopausal years, incorporating scientifically based medical and holistic support.

The Definitive Guide to the Perimenopause and Menopause
by Dr Louise Newson
Dr Louise Newson is releasing a new book in the Spring to better inform and empower women to get the best support they can during their menopausal years. It explores numerous treatment options including the complete guide to HRT; ways to improve libido, mental and physical health and the impact that menopause can have on careers, relationships and all aspects of our lives.
There have been many contributors to this book including Jane Simpson (Pelvic Floor Bible), Liz Earle, Joe Wicks, Kate Muir, Dr Rupy Aujla (Doctor’s Kitchen) to name a few, and I’m really honoured to announce that I am also a contributor, offering my take on how Yoga can best support perimenopausal, menopausal and post-menopausal health and wellbeing.
The books release date is on March 16th, but pre-booking is available :)
Writing for Midwifery Matters
I have also written an article for a brilliant magazine called Midwifery Matters on the importance of post-natal care for new mums. Yoga is a fantastic tool to support healing for Post-Natal care, both physically & psychologically. It was a great opportunity to write about this subject as it’s often overlooked or not even considered what with the excitement of a new baby arriving. But post-natal care is vital for women in order to feel supported, not only in healing the physical body after giving birth, but also in order to acknowledge the huge transformation that they move into, from maidenhood to motherhood. It shakes up your world on every level, there’s no going back in any way, shape or form: it’s a huge transformation physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Yoga is a powerful practice that can support a woman’s life cycle in any stage that she’s at.
I work with so many women, from pre-natal to post-menopause witnessing these transformations, and the power that yoga has in providing a space of support, healing, strength and accessing one’s own inner wisdom, that’s in all of us.

Yoga Therapy
I’m really happy to announce that I’ll be graduating from my Yoga Therapy course in January! It’s been a full on two years and I’d like to thank my partner, children and parents for their continued support in accommodating my weekends to London for training, late-night assignments, helping me with childcare and the general craziness that has been the life schedule for the last couple of years! I couldn’t have done it without their love, support and patience.
I’d also like to thank all of you who have supported me in this course, worked around my classes and 1:1’s in order for me to continue studying and hopefully become a better Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist!
I’m really grateful for having had this opportunity: I’d wanted to do this course for many years and it has been a fantastic experience. I’ve also had the good fortune in working alongside a fantastic group of trainee therapists and have learnt from some amazing teachers! It’s been very full on, but really worth every minute. I really hope that all of you who attend my classes or 1:1’s feel that you experience the benefits of the newfound knowledge that I’ve been absorbing over the years!

Well, that’s all for this year. If you’ve made it this far down the newsletter, firstly thank you! Secondly, please do leave a little heart at the bottom so that I know if you’ve liked the read. Thanks so much.
I’ll leave you with the lyrics to a Christmas song created in 1971 and it’s meaning that still speaks for today: a Christmas holiday song and anti-war ballad in one…
Wishing you all a beautiful festive season.
Much Love,
Lucy xx
Happy Xmas (War is Over) John Lennon & Yoko Ono
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young
A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas (ooh)
For weak and for strong (ooh)
For rich and the poor ones (ooh)
The war is so long (ooh)
And so happy Christmas (war is over)
For black and for white (if you want it)
For yellow and red ones (war is over)
Let's stop all the fight (now)
A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas (ooh)
And what have we done (ooh)
Another year over (ooh)
And a new one just begun (ooh)
And so happy Christmas (war is over)
We hope you have fun (if you want it)
The near and the dear ones (war is over)
The old and the young (now)
A very Merry Christmas
(And a Happy New Year) Ooh, oh
(Let's hope it's a good one) It' a good, it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas (war is over)
And what have we done (if you want it)
Another year over (war is over)
And a new one just begun (now)
