Just a little note to wish you all an enjoyable Easter break in some shape or form, whether you’re staying at home or going away, I’m hoping we can all welcome a bit of sunshine in our lives to uplift and restore. I’ll be resting, taking things slowly and nursing my new injury, so all things Yoga will start to pick up again next term.
Meanwhile, I thought to send out a little update on what’s been happening last term and what’s coming up, so grab yourself a cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy a read about all things with Living Your Yoga.
Last term flew by, and not without it’s ups and downs. Firstly, and most importantly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of those that have accommodated my injury and were happy to attend your yoga class online where I was unable to be in-person. It’s great that you’re able to maintain your practice within your yoga community whilst at home - thank you for being so flexible (in every way!)
I would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing staff at Newson Health who looked after me when I fainted and injured my foot a couple of weeks ago! They couldn’t do enough for me and made me feel so looked after, from the admin team, the nurses, GP’s and a sonographer! I was taken care of completely. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks resting with a couple of torn ligaments whilst gazing at the beautiful flowers the team have sent me - thank you team Newson Health.
On a personal level, my gorgeous children, my amazing parents, fabulous friends and caring clients have been checking in on me daily! The wonderful Andrea Ramus, Sports Massage Therapist, has checked in every day, taping my foot up and supporting me. I’ve had the amazing Emma Collins (Acupuncturist) treat me with Reiki (and do my washing!) as well as neighbours offering support. My folks have been ensuring myself and my children have meals and everything we need, and even my children have been cleaning and washing (lets hope that continues!) I can honestly say that I am incredibly grateful for all of the support I’ve received - huge thank you to everyone for all of your help.
I’ve learnt a lot in the last couple of weeks. Resting and recovering isn’t easy when my job and my home life is about supporting and nurturing others: I’m now tuning in to my quieter practices whilst I recover, reflecting on where life needs to change and using my subtler yoga tools to support my healing. Of course, all of these practices will be explored and shared at some point…it all takes the form of a cycle of research in some way. I’m grateful to have the time, support and knowledge to be able do this.
Little Reflection on Last Term…
Last term saw a busy schedule with both new and familiar faces; a fully-booked Well-Woman Yoga Afternoon Event; Dr Louise Newson’s latest book launch that I contributed to, and a brilliant Yoga retreat video created by my best friend Kat, founder of Black Belt Presence (I’ll add the link below for you to watch!) As well as announcing future retreats with Living Your Yoga in collaboration with a wonderful team of caterers and therapists including Sports Massage Therapist Andrea Ramus and Aromatherapist Rebecca Tracey. Read on for more information…
Looking Ahead…

Ashtanga Yoga
Saturdays 7.30-9am
In-person & Online
A few in-person spaces have become available in our Saturday morning Ashtanga Yoga Classes. Ashtanga Yoga is my personal practice that I have studied for the best part of 23 years! It leans to a more dynamic form of a Hatha Yoga practice, with a fixed sequence of poses, with flowing movements between static postures, co-ordinated with breath. It’s a brilliant practice to build strength, focus, mental clarity, flexibility, create calm and uplift at the same time. It’s a very powerful practice. If you’re interested in trying out the practice or would like further information, do drop me an email:
Well, that’s all for now.
Wishing everyone a really joyful Easter Break.
Much Love,
Lucy xx
