What time is it? Summertime!

Hello! Welcome to my Summertime newsletter. I hope that you’re all able to take a bit of time out over the coming weeks, whether you’re away or at home, taking some rest and switching off from the noise of the outside world may be the best break we can take in the current climate. Hopefully you’ve found that your yoga community brings some life, light and grounding into your lives during such unpredictable & challenging times. Mixed Ability classes spent a lot of last term exploring numerous practices from nurturing meditations to remembering how to play with half & full handstands, shoulder-stands and headstands. We explored how inversions can make you feel, experiencing the support of partner work in some instances, and how we individually approach challenges that we may think are out of our reach (and then we discover that perhaps they are not :)) We always have lots of giggles in our Ashtanga Yoga Classes, whether there’s some spontaneous roly-poly’s or sharing funny stories, Saturday mornings are always fun, no matter how bleary-eyed we’re feeling! Well-Woman Yoga & Monday Evening Hatha Yoga Classes invite the mind and body to be soothed, nourished and settled, inviting a release of tension and an opportunity for deep rest.

Classes are both face-to-face and online: our community is still growing far and wide - everyone is welcome.

We have some exciting events planned for you during August and beyond…

Pre Natal 1:1’s & Couple Birth Preparation Sessions

Group pre natal & post natal classes are on hold at the moment, but I do run pre & post natal yoga 1:1’s both face to face and online - do contact me for more details.

Couples Birth Preparation Sessions are really unique sessions that I also teach privately in order to support both mum-to-be and birthing partner to prepare for labour. Often birthing partner can feel at a loose end when their partner is in labour, so this session is specifically designed to suit both. Practices include breath work, sounding, birthing postures and how partner can be a part of labour and best support the experience. These sessions have had great feedback in giving confidence to both parents-to-be.

“I loved our couple's birth prep workshop. It connected what I've learnt in my pre-natal classes with practical techniques my partner can support me with in labour. Now we've experienced the class together I feel much more confident about the birth. Before the workshop I'd told him how amazing Lucy was, and talked him through some of the techniques, but now we've practiced it together it's brought it all to life.” Charlotte.

In Other News…

Although this years Summer schedule looks quiet, there’s lots going on behind the scenes with Living Your Yoga! Including, more filming for the balance+ app; organising retreats for 2023 (let me know if you’re interested!), recording Audio Meditations, Yoga Nidra’s and Well-Woman Yoga Downloads. I’ll keep you updated when these will be released.

Don’t forget, you can also send Living Your Yoga Gift Vouchers to friends & family which can be exchanged for Weekly Classes, 1:1’s and Events!

Thank you to all of those that nominated & voted for LYY again with Muddy Stilettos Award - this year we made it to the finals which was a surprise after winning it last year! I didn’t expect to get that far again. Thank you, as ever, for all of your support! I’m always grateful.

That’s all for now… I thought I’d leave you with a beautiful poem by yung pueblo. I felt that this bit of writing really sums up how yoga works.

Wishing you all a beautiful Summer if I don’t see you.

Take care.

Much Love,

Lucy xxx

a body is a field of moving energy and a system of

information. as life continues its fluctuations, we tend

to gather attachments, burdens, and sorrows. we hold

them so tightly that they become embedded in the

body, causing blockages and disruptions in the flow of

our system, which can limit access to the best possible

version of ourselves - this sometimes manifests as

ailments or disease as well as a lack of belief in our

own power and a lack of understanding of the universe.

when we use purifying healing techniques, the body

begins releasing these knots of attachment, allowing

our field of energy to return to balance and move more

freely and powerfully. this causes changes in our body:

not just physical changes, such as the healing of disease

or ailments, but immaterial and internal changes as

well, such as believing in oneself more, the growth of

love, and the aspiration to grow into wisdom. really,

there is no separation between the mind and the body;

they move together as one under the leadership of our

mental contents.
